Nelly is a sweet girl but she can take a little while to trust new people, more so men, than women. Whilst she has been here with us she has formed lovely bonds with the carers.
Nelly does have a very strong chase drive so she would require a home which only has dogs rather than any other small furries!
Nelly has lived with another dog previously and could live with another dog pending some successful dog mixes. The other dog would need to be playful and be able to withstand Nelly’s play style which can be a little rough at times but also give Nelly space when she wants it. Nelly has met quieter dogs and has accepted that they didn’t want to play.
Nelly will need to have her home alone time built up gradually but once settled should be happy to be left. Nelly has been crate trained in her previous home and this could be something that new owners could transfer into her new home so that she can ‘hide’ away if she is uncomfortable with any unfamiliar situations or people.
Nelly knows quite a lot of commands at present and practicing some of these in her new home will strengthen the bond with her new owners, help with her confidence and provide mental stimulation too.
In an understanding and calm home, Nelly will make a wonderful companion as she is a fun, loving and active girl.
Can you offer this lovely girl a loving and permanent new home?
