Lily arrived in the care of Stokenchurch Dog Rescue with another lurcher from a local pound as an unclaimed stray. She has since been rehomed, but unfortunately was returned to us, through no fault of her own.
Lily is a very gentle girl who walks nicely on the lead. Her favourite past time though is being off lead, in our enclosed areas, playing and running around. Consequently new owners will need to teach Lily a solid and reliable recall before letting her off lead.
Lily would enjoy living with another dog as she enjoyed the company of her previous kennel mate when she was last with us. She has also shown to mix well with other dogs, and is calm and friendly when meeting them. She can be a little worried by more vocal dogs. As such we would need to carry out a couple of successful dog mixes to ensure the dogs are a suitable match.
Lily will require some basic training, which will be easily achieved using high value treats, such as hot dog or liver cake that will engage and motivate her. This will be a good way for new owners to bond with Lily and build up her confidence with them.
Lily will need access to a fully secure garden with a 6ft fence. It would be advisable to move any objects that she could climb onto away from the fence, as she has demonstrated excellent climbing skills.
In a home with owners who have owned dogs previously, or currently own another dog, Lily will make a wonderful addition.
Can you offer this lovely girl a loving and permanent new home?
