More information about Bobby
Bobby was returned to SDR as his previous owners had a baby and unfortunately could not spend the as much time with Bobby as required.
He is vocal when he is left in his kennel for any length of time and much prefers the company of people.
Bobby would require an owner who has had previous experience of the breed to ensure that they can recognise the foibles that come with a dog like him.
Bobby will require daily cleaning of the folds on his face and his ears wiped to ensure there is no build-up of dirt and no risk of infections. As with this breed he does have closed nostrils which in future may require surgery to help with his breathing. Bobby could also do with losing a little weight this will also help towards his wellbeing.
Bobby has a personality that shines through, he loves meeting new people and gets very excited when doing so. This can lead to Bobby forgetting how big he is and will more than likely jump up to greet you.
He knows a few basic commands sit, wait, and paw. It would benefit him to practice these on a frequent basis as he can sometimes become stubborn and not want to do anything. Bobby would need 3-4 short walks a day 15-20 minutes at a time to help him lose some weight, but to also ensure he is not over doing it as he can become quite breathless quickly. Bobby would love to have his own garden to explore and also get some extra exercise whilst doing this.
Ideally Bobby would love to have someone who is with him most of the time as he does not like being left alone and will become very vocal, showing his disapproval.
He has no specific dietary requirements, but would need to be kept on a well-balanced diet to ensure he does not put any weight on.
Bobby walks beautifully on a lead and is not fazed by passing traffic, he enjoys the sights, sounds & smells when out walking and does not show concern when another dog is passing by.
He is a "happy go lucky dog" with a fantastic personality, he would love nothing more than to live with a family who can keep him entertained through the day. He would love a home with a garden for him to explore but also just to laze around in the sun.
