Dennis arrived at Stokenchurch through no fault of his own and has settled in well to kennel life, getting used to the daily routines.

He is a very sweet natured boy who loves to be on the go and exploring everywhere he goes. He likes to make sure he does not miss a good smell or sight. He is happy to meet new people when out on his walks and will accept any treats when they are offered.

Dennis is very intelligent and currently knows sit and has the potential to learn a lot more with the right positive reward based training. He will need to have a solid recall until he is let off the lead in a public place as he does get very involved in his own adventures when out walking.

He has been mixed with a few different dogs here at the rescue centre and has responded well with a quick hello then ignoring them and carrying on with his walk.

Dennis loves to play with toys and interact with his handlers and this could be a good way for the new owners to bond with him and to help him to show his true personality.

The toys he likes to play with are tennis balls, tug toys and squeaky toys and he will happily chase after balls, but he has not yet learnt to bring them back to extend the game.

Dennis has old injury to his hip, which has healed, so it's important to keep the weight off of him.  He would benefit from attending hydrotherapy to strengthen the muscles around the joint.  He is also on a long term joint supplement.  At present, he does not require any intervention regarding the old injury, however in his later years, he may need further treatment.

In the right home, Dennis will make a lovely addition and will enjoy interacting with his new owners when playing games and learning new commands and skills.

Can you offer this lovely boy a loving and permanent new home?
