Lexi arrived in the care of SDR after we received a call from a local pound. Her time at the pound was coming to an end and she hadn’t been claimed by an owner. Lexi has settled into kennels really well and has become accustomed to the daily routines.
Lexi is a young, lively and boisterous SBT with a lot of love to give her new owner(s). She will require some further training, but already knows a couple of basic commands; sit and paw. She is a very intelligent girl who is motivated by treats and eager to learn. Providing mental stimulation for Lexi will be highly beneficial as it will also help to drain some of her excess energy and allow her to settle and switch off. We would recommend Lexi attends some training classes so she can work on her meet and greets with people and other dogs, as she has a tendency to be a little lively when greeting others.
Lexi has mixed well with other dogs on initial tests but we feel she would be too full on to live with another dog. Her play style is very rough and boisterous and although she doesn't mean any harm, she is too rough for most dogs to handle.
Lexi will need access to a nice size, fully secure garden with a 6ft fence. She has been reasonably responsive in coming when called in our enclosed areas, but this will require more work before allowing her off lead on walks/open spaces.
In the right home with people who have owned dogs before , Lexi will make a truly wonderful companion – there certainly will not be any dull moments with Lexi!
Can you offer this lovely girl a loving and permanent new home?
