Clicker Training 1   Clicker Training 2   Luna & Jed Play date

Luna arrived at Stokenchurch Dog Rescue through no fault of her own and she has settled in very well and has become accustomed to the daily routines.

She will need to live with someone who has previously owned high energy breeds.  She has a lot of energy to burn and would make a great running companion or sports dog when older.  She will also need to continue with her basic training.  She currently knows sit, down, wait, touch and leave. Not all of these commands are solid and reliable yet, so owners must be prepared to continue this training with her.  She is a very smart girl who loves having her brain worked and thoroughly enjoys her training sessions.  All of Luna’s training has been done with the use of positive reinforcement, a clicker and high value treats.

Luna is a very excitable young girl who has so much love for every person and dog she meets!

When Luna is out in public and on lead, she can get quite excited and will require some loose lead training.  With the right training it will not take her long to understand what you are asking of her, as she has picked up other commands quickly whilst she has been in the care of SDR.  Luna is more than happy to say hello to eveyone on her walks, she enjoys a fuss, lots of kisses and will also accept a treat or two from the new people she meets.

We have mixed her with many different types of dogs and she has behaved very well.  She is more than happy to say hello and then carry on exploring in her new surroundings. We feel she would benefit from living with another dog of similar temperament who enjoys being active and on the go.  She can be a little boisterious at times when playing with other dogs, so it’s important that new owners continue her socialisation.

Due to Luna’s needs, we feel she would be better suited to live with a child aged 12 years and older.

In the right home Luna will make a wonderful addition to an active household who are willing to continue with this bright girls training.
