Mildred is a sweet and affectionate girl who arrived with us from the local pound. She has settled in to kennel life well and is always happy to greet her carers. She loves getting fuss and attention from people and will sometimes forget her size and think she is a lap dog!
Mildred would be suitable for people who have owned bull breeds previously.
Mildred enjoys having an explore in our enclosed areas, however currently doesn't seem overly interested in toys, prefering to play with her handlers or other dogs. This may change one she is settled in a home environment. New owners will also need to work on her recall before she is let off lead in open spaces, as she can have selective hearing particularly during playtime.
She already knows 'sit' and 'paw' and has the potential to learn so much more. Continuing with her training would be a good way for new owners to build up a bond with her. If Mildred is to be left alone we would recommend for it to be no longer than 2 hours and for her to have plenty of treats (kongs or treat balls) or toys to play with to keep her entertained.
When mixed with other dogs, Mildred is friendly and playful and loves playing zoomies with them. She is more respectful of larger dogs and accepts if they do not want to play, however she is a bit more excitable with smaller dogs and can be too much for some. As such we would recommend that Mildred could live with another dog of a similar size to her that would enjoy playing with her.
We have found that she has now become nervous when meeting visitors in the home environment and may need some training or securing behind a stairgate until she is happy to say hello. It may be of benefit to her that she is kept on the lead to say hello if not secure behind a stairgate.
In a home with owners who have previously or currently own a dog, Mildred will make a happy and loving addition.
Can you offer this lovely girl a loving and permanent new home?
