Patti was returned to SDR after 5 years due to no fault of her own. When Patti first arrived with us she was a little stressed and missed her previous owner. After a few days Patti began to settle down and is now more relaxed and getting into the swing of our daily routine. She loves to welcome all the dog carers with a waggy tail and face kisses.
She is looking for owners with previous dog experience but not necessarily with the breed.
Patti is a very friendly, affectionate and sweet lady with everyone she meets and loves nothing more than attention and fuss. Patti is calm when meeting people for the first time but will occasionally jump up when being given fuss, however this is always a friendly greeting.
She is lovely to walk on lead and loves to take in the new surrounding smells. She also does not seem to be phased by passing traffic. She will need at least 1-2 hours of exercise a day to let off some steam and lose some weight. She will also benefit from being able to be let off lead in a fully enclosed paddock or garden. Her recall will also need to be worked on before letting her off lead in open areas.
Patti already knows some tricks such as 'sit' and 'paw' but has the compacity to learn some new ones to keep her mind occupied.
We recommend Patti not to be left for more than 4 and this is to be built up slowly while settling into her new home.
Patti is currently fed on Arden grange kibble with a little wet food mixed in. She hasn’t shown that much interest in the food yet and will slowly graze on it thoughout the day but will still leave a lot of it. We are hopefully this will change when she settles into her new home. Patti does like to have the occasional high value treat such a meatballs, which can help motivate her to learn some new skills. When taking treats she is very well mannered and chews calmly.
Patti is great walking past other dogs while out on walks and doesn’t seem to pay much attention. When socialising Patti we have found she prefers smaller calmer dogs that wont pay much attention to her, so with some furthur training she could potentionally have a calm walking buddy in the future. However Patti will best suited to the only pet in the home.
Patti will require owners who live in a house with access to a fully enclosed garden with 6 foot fencing that she can explore whenever she likes.
Overall Patti is a loving girl who is looking for an owner who she can share a sofa with and get endless amounts of cuddles and love.
The adoption fee for Patti is £200
