Sam is a wonderful boy, who found himself in the care of SDR via the pound as an unclaimed stray. Sam has settled into kennels well and is always please and over joyed to see his handlers.
Sam loves playing with toys and is motivated by them, so alongside treats, toys can be used as a reward for good behaviour when training. He has had some previous training and currently knows sit and down. Being an intelligent Collie, it's important that Sam is allowed to use his brain and be kept mentally stimulated. He will enjoy further training and will pick up new commands/tricks very quickly.
He is very active and is looking for a home that are experienced with the breed and can get the bets out of him as he has a lot of potential. Once he's has some further basic training Sam would enjoy doing extra activities such as agility, flyball, hoopers, canicross/bikejor or even scent work.
Sam walks surprisingly well on the lead and follows your direction. He doesn't pull if there is something of interest. He remains calm when being gently restrained and when having his harness put on.
Sam is not a fan of other dogs and will be looking for a home where there are no other dogs. He may benefit from some reactive classes once he has settled into his new home.
In a Collie experienced home, Sam will make a fabulous addition.
Can you offer this lovely boy a loving and permanent new home?
