We have an excellent, hard working and loyal team of staff at SDR:  

Debby Hicks - Head of Administration is the contact for all matters regarding the rescue's administration, responding to your enquiries, and generally ensuring the smooth running of administration to support the rescue and rehoming of the dogs 

Nicola Dillon - Head of Rescue and Rehoming is responsible for the well-being and adoption of the dogs in our care and she is ably supported by our five dog carers

REGULAR VOLUNTEERS

SDR could not care for and rehome the number of dogs that it does without our invaluable team of volunteers. They take responsibility for a very broad range of activities, listed below. For more information look at the tab 'Help Us'

  • dog walking
  • preparing dog meals
  • laundering dog blankets and towels
  • cleaning kennels
  • socialising dogs
  • caring for our puppies and sick dogs
  • fostering dogs
  • home checking
  • coordinating our shop based collection tins
  • managing our 'Buy a brick' scheme
  • working at reception
  • managing our membership requirements and records
  • taking minutes at meetings
  • managing our banking and book-keeping activities
  • coordinating our volunteer activities
  • overseeing all our building, maintenance and repairs
  • cleaning the office
  • managing our foster a dog scheme
  • managing our Gift Aid
  • preparing grant applications
  • sorting bric-a-brac
  • doing street collections

  • running fetes, table-top sales and jumble sales
