Boss came to SDR via the local dog pound as an unclaimed stray. He has settled in well to his new routine here at SDR, taking every day in his stride.

When meeting new people, he can be a little nervous the first time, but with lots of praise and treats help him overcome his first time nerves and then he is a happy little chap. Once he is happy in your company, he loves to sit on your lap for lots of fuss and attention.

He has a good appetite and eats well. He has no specific dietary requirements, just well balanced meals to keep him fit and healthy. Overall, he is well mannered when taking treats and if they are larger, he will take them to his bed to enjoy.

Boss enjoys his playtime off lead and is a big fan of a squeaky toys.  He will happily go and fetch a ball but hasn’t quite grasped the concept of bringing it back to you for the game to continue. He gets very excited when he is first let off the lead and this usually results in a few minutes of "zoomies", before calming down.

He might be little, but Boss gets very excited at the prospect of going out for a walk and will bounce around when trying to fit his harness. Once he is out and about, he walks well on the lead with minimal pulling, choosing to ignore the passing traffic and enjoying the fauna and flora around him.

We have had mixed reactions from Boss when he meets other residents here. He is, overall well-mannered when walking past his canine friends choosing to ignore them. We have found on occasion that he is reactive towards black & white dogs; with this in mind we feel he would be best suited to being the only dog in the home.  Boss could have some canine walking friends and he would benefit from attending training classes.  Whilst here we have also let Boss meet our resident cat, Clove.  Boss was very reactive when he saw her, and this will be a definite NO to living with cats.

Boss could live with sensible children aged 11 years and over. He is a playful and sometimes "in your face" little man jumping onto your lap at any given opportunity for a fuss. Children will need to be happy and confident knowing that he will inevitably do this.

As mentioned, Boss is a lively little chap with plenty of "get up and go". His new family will need to be quite active as he does like a play and a good walk. He will need someone that is confident around dogs as he does like to get into your personal space for a cuddle and a fuss. His new home will ideally have a nice garden for him to explore and play in.  Minimum fence height of 5 foot which will need to be secure as any gaps Boss will no doubt find them.

The adoption fee for Boss is £200
