Here we have the little Rolo who is not a new face here at the rescue.  He was rehomed in January 2022, but sadly had to be returned due to his owner’s ill health. Rolo is settling back in gradually, but he does have some behavioural issues that will need addressing by his new owners.

This sparky little character is looking for owners who have experience with dogs and have a good understanding of what resource guarding is and are dedicated to working with him, ideally with the help of a professional trainer.

When in company of someone he trusts, Rolo is a loving affectionate boy, but due to how his behaviour can be, he will need owners who will be able to put some boundaries and most importantly management in place to keep themselves and him safe.

He has met a couple dogs around site with slow introductions and prefers the company of small, calmer dogs who will ignore him.  With larger or excitable dogs Rolo will tend to react to them. Rolo will benefit from having 1-2-1 training with a positive reinforcement trainer who can help him become more neutral around other dogs. He will need to be the only pet in the home.

Rolo loves being out in the fresh air, so will happily live with someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and will take him on lots of walks and adventures.

Rolo could live in a village, town or rural location as long as he has the right owners who are going to be sensible and take his needs into account and set him up for success. If there is access to a garden it should be fully enclosed with at least 5ft fencing.
