Welcoming Bolt, whom despite his name is more entuned with the calm, quieter side of life. He came to us via our local pound as an unclaimed stray but seems to have taken kennel life in his stride.
Personality - Bolts personality is that of a gentle soul, he enjoys being in the company of any person that comes his way, or he makes his way too, receiving as much fuss as someone is willing to give. The way to describe Bolt is calm, gentle and easy-going.
Training & Exercise – We do feel it’s unlikely Bolt has ever lived in a home before, therefore new owners will need to be prepared to put in all basic training, including toilet training. He is also a proven culprit to go scavenging for food, even if it means getting through something to get to the food, so management and training will be recommended to keep him safe. Being a lurcher he isn’t as high energy as other breeds but will still appreciate someone who will take him out and do things with him to keep him enriched.
Other Animals - Bolt has met a variety of dogs with different personalities and overall does well. He will take interest at first greeting but then loses interest quickly once he is done sniffing them. He isn’t much of a player, he has had been mixed with a couple of pushy dogs who want to play which he will tolerate for a while then eventually will give a warning growl and may bare his teeth at them too. He does prefer dogs who are a similar personality to him. With this we do feel he could potentially live with another well socialised dog providing successful dog mix.
Home Alone - If you build up the time slowly, we feel he could be left for a few hours at a time. It is recommended to leave him in a safe area where he is unable to gain access to food. Also make sure you let him out before you leave and straight when you return as we do not feel he is yet toilet trained.
Owner Experience – As Bolt is a chilled-out character, we do feel he could live with a first-time owner.
Type of Home – Ideally a home with access to an enclosed space with at least 6ft fencing.
Overall Bolt is a lovely boy too look after. We hope he will be lucky enough to find his forever home where he can get as much attention as he desires, as quickly as possible.
The adoption fee for Bolt is £250.00
