Boss originally came to SDR as a stray from the pound back in March. Since then, he has been in a home for the past 5-6 months. Boss has settled in well to the routine here at SDR and takes every day in his stride.
Personality with people - Boss can be unpredictable when it comes to meeting people. He is on the whole a happy go lucky little chap and does have quite an affectionate side. In his previous home and when he had settled, Boss had shown signs of aggression toward his new family. Boss is best suited to living with someone who lives on their own as Boss seems to bond with one person more than other family members.
Personality with other animals - Boss could not live with other dogs, although he could have some canine friends to go walking with. We have also tried Boss with our resident cat Clove and this is a definite no to living with cats as he is quite reactive when he sees them.
Owner experience - Boss is looking for an owner who can help him with his little foibles that he displays in the home. He is going to need someone that is tolerant of his "mood swings" and can accept that Boss is not always going to want lots of affection. Boss is quite an independent little chap when he wants to be and leaving him to his own devices is more suited to his style.
Training & Exercise - Boss walks well on the lead with very little pulling, he is not fazed by passing vehicles. He can be reactive (vocal) toward larger dogs and dogs with dark fur. Boss enjoys his walks and a good couple of walks for an hour a day will suit him. He also enjoys his time off lead playing with his toys.
Home alone time - Boss could be left up to four hours, in his previous home he was well settled when left and not destructive.
Type of home & Family - Boss is looking for his new home to have a good sized garden as he does like his time off lead and playtime. He is looking for an owner that will give him the space he requires as he can be an independent little chap and not always wanting lots of fuss and attention. As mentioned, he is best suited to living with someone on their own and is not looking for a "lap" dog.
Number of visits by potential adopters - Boss will require a minimum of 4 visits from everyone in the household. This is to ensure that his new owners are 100% onboard and are happy with his foibles.
The adoption fee for Boss is £250.00
