Coco came to SDR as an unclaimed stray from the pound. She has settled in well to her routine here and is always pleased to see one of the carers.
Personality with people - Coco can be a little unsure when she first meets someone. Lots of praise and good quality treats helps overcome any nerves. Once happy in your company Coco's friendly and loving personality comes shining through. Coco could live with children age 15 years and over, but they will need to be aware that Coco is very playful and somewhat bouncy young lady.
Personality with dogs - Whilst here at SDR Coco has met various other residents. Coco can be vocal when she see's another dog, this is more excited squeaks and yaps rather than loud barking. Initially Coco is very intense when she meets another dog and can be quite overbearing, this is not appreciated by some of them and they will tell her so. Although Coco does calm down given time the intense behaviour remains and can be easily triggered with the slightest excitement from the other dog. With this in mind Coco is better off being the only dog in the home, she could however have some canine friends to go walking with as long as introductions are done in a calm and controlled manner.
Training & Exercise - When first getting Coco ready for her walk the excitement is somewhat uncontrollable and fitting her harness can be a struggle. Once she is ready to go the excitement initially remains and she can be a little vocal to start. Out and about Coco will calm down and she walks quite well on the lead with just a little pulling. Coco is not worried by passing vehicles choosing to take in the fauna and flora around her. Coco will also remain calm with dogs passing her as long as a moderate distance is kept between them. Coco will benefit from a couple of good long walks a day plus time off lead in the garden to play.
Time alone - 1 - 4 hours and this will need building up over time. Coco will need letting out to toilet just before you leave her and as soon as you return home.
Coco's new home and family - Coco is looking for a home with a good sized garden for her to run and play in (minimum fence height 6 foot). Her new family will need to be active as she has bags of energy and is always looking for new adventures.
Coco will require a minimum of 2 visits from everyone in the household before adoption.
The adoption fee for Coco is £250.00
