This is Domino, a 2-year-old spaniel mix who’s full of life and always ready for adventure.
Background - He came to us as a stray and whilst his history is a mystery, he’s settled in brilliantly. Initially a little nervous, Domino quickly came out of his shell and hasn’t looked back since. He’s a busy, active dog who loves getting out of the kennel, whether it’s for a walk, a play in the paddock, or just spending time with people or other dogs.
Personality with People - On first interaction you will see he is very social and affectionate, with his little stumpy tail constantly wagging. He loves attention and a fuss and can be seen in his kennel sleeping in his bed.
Training & Exercise - Outside he has lots of energy and enjoys keeping busy with longer walks or running around the paddock. He’s a typical nose-to-the-ground dog, completely scent-driven, and often locks onto tracks when he finds one. He is very sociable with other dogs and enjoys meeting them but can be a little forward with his sniffing, initially supervision is needed to keep things calm during first meets. For the most part he is playful and friendly and has been able to mix with quite a few dogs here making a lot of friends.
In new environments, he is curious and eager to explore everything thoroughly, though he can get a little restless at times. While he’s confident in most situations and seems for the most part well socialised, he’s still learning and will be very much starting from scratch with his basics such as house-training, walking on a lead and recall. He is highly food-motivated which makes him easy to engage for training when he has not got his head in a bush.
Type of home required - The type of home he would thrive in will be an active home with owners who enjoy the outdoors and are able to provide mental stimulation such as scent work or gundog training as he is a busy spaniel type. He’s not suitable for homes with cats or small animals due to his prey drive, but he could live with other dog companions. He also would suit families with dog-savvy children aged 12 years or over.
A secure garden with a 5ft fence is a must for this adventurous boy.
If you’re looking for a friendly, active and loving companion who’ll keep you on your toes, Domino is the perfect match.
The adoption fee for Domino is: £250.00
