Meet handsome boy Goji who came to SDR as an unclaimed stray. Goji has settled in well to kennel life and is now waiting for his forever family to come along.

Goji is a very sensitive boy who is frightened of the world.

Family & Home -  Goji is seeking a calm, quiet household with very few visitors, as he is a nervous dog who is fearful of the world. His new owners should have previous experience with dog ownership. It would be ideal if Goji could live in a home with a garden that has a secure 6-foot fence, allowing him to run around freely. His new owners will need to be patient and willing to invest a lot of time in his care. Building a relationship with Goji may take time and will come with both good and challenging days. However, I assure you that the effort you put into helping him will be rewarding for both you and Goji.

Walking, meeting new people -  When taking Goji for a walk, you may not get very far, but you will spend some time outside. Goji walks well on a lead; however, he is noise-sensitive, so any loud sounds or even the sound of him sniffing something like a leaf can startle him. This sensitivity makes it challenging for Goji to meet new people. While he can be brave and curious at times, his nerves often get the best of him. Goji is not the type of dog that enjoys being fussed over or saying hello to everyone he encounters. Therefore, his new family will need to be confident in saying "no" to people and advocating for Goji’s needs.

Meeting other Dogs and Cats - When meeting other dogs, Goji is quite different from how he behaves around strangers. He loves being with other dogs and shows more confidence in their company. We have successfully mixed Goji with a few other dogs here at SDR. When greeting new dogs, Goji can be very upfront in trying to say hello, but once he's finished, he's content to wander off and do his own thing, although he’s always happy to return for some playtime. At times, Goji can be inappropriate when it comes to sniffing other dogs. We believe he would thrive living with a confident female dog. Goji has also met our resident cat, Clove, and he seemed to get along with her, so he could potentially live with a confident cat as long as the cat has a safe space to retreat to when needed.

Number of visits  - Goji will require a minimum of 4 visits from everyone in the household.

The adoption fee for Goji is £250.00
