Introduction – Beautiful & gorgeous are words banded around when people meet Joules, and don’t get me wrong she most certainly is. The only other words missing are bonkers, crazy and bouncy. As anyone who has owned a boxer type before will no doubt testify. This lovable breed are in a league of their own when it comes to full on madness. (Joules is no exception)
Background – Joules came to us as she was a little too much for her previous family. She has lived with children and was well mannered, if somewhat excitable when around them.
Personality & People – Joules can be a little wary when meeting people for the first time, this may sometimes come out with her being quite vocal towards whomever she is meeting. We have found that kneeling to be more on her level helps reduce this. Once Joules is happy in your company she is incredibly affectionate and loves company.
Owner experience – Idealy Joules is looking for a family that has previous Boxer experience. Boxers have vast quantaties of energy and plenty of quirks. Knowing in advance of what you are letting yourself in for is a must.
Dogs & Cats - Joules has been mixed with other canine residents whilst here at SDR. She cannot live with other dogs due to her reactive nature. She could potentially have some canine friends to walk with if introductions are done in a well mannered and calm environment. Joules has also met our resident cat Clove, and again she could not live with cats.
Training & Exercise – Joules has some basic training and walks well on her lead. She is excitable when getting her ready. Once out and about, she ignores the traffic, favouring to take in the fauna & flora around her. Joules can be reactive with passing dogs, particularly if they are vocal towards her. Joules has boundless energy and will require plenty of exercise both physically and mentally.
Home Alone – Joules could be left up to 2 hours. This will need building up gradually overtime.
Type of family & Home - Joules is looking for a family that have had previous Boxer experience. They must be active and willing to spend time training and exercising her. Her new home will require a good sized garden for her to play off lead and a minimum fence height of 6 foot.
Joules will require a minimum of 2 visits from everyone in the household before adoption.
The adoption fee for Joules is £250.00
