Stunning boy Marley came to us from a previous rescue where he was dumped outside, due to the rescue being based in the city it proved to be too stressful for Marley as a lot was going on, so they reached out to us. It took Marley a few days to adjust to being in a new place, but he is now a lot happier.
People & Personality - When Marley first arrived, he was a little unsettled, and a bit unsure of us. After a few days when he began to settle his true side came shining through and he showed how amazing he is, he loves fuss and attention from the handlers and is super cuddly. He is also always happy to have a good play, as he is still very much an active boy.
Other Animals - Marley is a reactive lad who prefers his own space, he does need a lot of distance from other animals, or he will lunge and bark at them. Ideally, new owners would work with him on this by taking him to 1-1 training sessions. Working with him would benefit his life as it would make it less stressful for him to go out on walks. Marley will need to be the only pet in the home.
Training & Exercise - Marley is still an active boy so will want a family who can keep him both physically and mentally stimulated. Marley does walk well when there aren't any distractions but when there is a distraction like another dog this is when he will react and become quite strong. Marley does have basic training but there will need to be ongoing training in certain areas that will be explained by a dog carer.
Home Alone - Marley is genuinely a tidy boy in his kennel so we do feel if time is built up slowly while adjusting to a new home, he should be fine leaving up to 4 hours at a time.
Owner Experience - Marley is looking for owners who have experience with Staffies or have had dogs with similar issues and are willing to work with him and a trainer.
Type of home - Marley was originally at another rescue based in London which proved to be quite stressful for him as a lot was going on. Ideally, Marley will be better placed in a quieter area. He will benefit from having access to a fully enclosed garden with at least 6-foot fencing where he can run about safely.
Marley does need some work but with an understanding owner who is willing to work with him, he will make a good companion, as he is a sweet boy at heart.
Marley will require a minimum of two visits from all members of the household ahead of the adoption process.
The adoption fee for Marley is £200
