Obie came to SDR as a change in his previous owners circumstances meant they could no longer dedicate him the time he needs.

Obie has been an absolute joy from day one of his arrival here at SDR. He is always happy to see one of the dog carers as he knows this means fuss, cuddles and playtime.

Personality with people - Obie basically loves everyone he meets. He is on the whole well mannered when first meeting people, if somewhat a little excited. Obie could live with children aged 5 years and above, as long as they are confident around a large breed dog.

Personality with dogs - Since being here at SDR Obie has had time to mingle with a few of the other canine residents. He is well mannered when meeting them and is good at judging what type of play the other dog would like. Obie could live with another dog as long as they have the same "happy go lucky" outlook on life that Obie has and also the energy levels to keep up with him.

Personality with cats - Obie has had the honours of meeting our resident cat Clove, he was well mannered when meeting her and didn't "push his luck" with her. Clove is very much used to meeting the dogs here and knows not to run. With this in mind Obie could live with a confident cat.

Walking & Playtime - Obie is well behaved when fitting his harness to go out walking. Once out and about Obie walks very well on the lead with minimal pulling. He is not fazed by the passing traffic choosing to take in all the fauna & flora around him. When it comes to play time, Obie loves the humble tennis ball and can become a little vocal if you are not up to speed when throwing it (having 2 or 3 tennis balls to hand will keep him happy). Obie is going to need at least a good couple of walks a day as he has bags of energy as well as time off lead to play.

Travel - This is one of the only foibles that Obie has, he is not the biggest fan of travelling in a car and can become quite car sick on his journey.

Obie's new family & Home - Obie is looking for a family that have plenty of time and energy for him. He loves the company of people and enjoys his walks and playtime. Obie will require a home that has a garden for him to explore and play in. (minimum fence height 6 foot)

Summary - In short what you are getting with the delightful Obie, is a friendly, happy, playful and sometimes noisy (when playing) fabulous new addition to your family. He is best described as the "Mary Poppins" of dogs (Practically Perfect in Every Way).

Due to Obie’s coat, he will require grooming every 6 – 8 weeks at an approximate cost of £70.00 - £90.00 per groom, dependant on who you use for this.  This should be taken into account, along with the usual pet ownership costs when considering Obie.

Number of visits required before adoption - Obie will require a minimum of 2 visits from everyone in the household.

Obie will not be available for viewing until he meets his potential adopters

The adoption fee for Obie is £250.00
