Meet Pineapple! She was brought to SDR by a member of the public who found her as a stray. After completing her required time in the pound, Pineapple has settled into her new routine and is always very happy to see her carers. If you are looking for a sweet, cuddly, and affectionate dog who loves to invade your personal space and sit in your lap, then Pineapple is the perfect companion for you!
Meeting new people - When meeting new people, Pineapple is always happy to say hello. At times, she can be a bit too excited, and she tends to jump up at people. As we’ve tried to get to know Pineapple better, we’ve noticed that she sometimes flinches at certain hand movements. However, with some reassurance, she seems to be okay.
Walking and exercise - Pineapple gets very excited when she knows it’s ‘walkies’. She can be quite strong on the lead when she wants to be. Due to her excitement, she tends to pull and often walks in a bit of a zigzag, which can pose a trip hazard. New owners will need to work on loose-lead walking with her. When walking in busy traffic areas, Pineapple can become nervous and wary, particularly around larger vehicles like lorries and motorbikes, as she is frightened of them.
Other Animals - We have mixed Pineapple with a few different types of dogs and found that she gets along well with them. She could potentially live with a calm, well-mannered dog—one that enjoys a little playtime but is also content to go their separate ways and do their own thing. If Pineapple were to live with another dog, we would need to conduct some successful introductions here at SDR. We have noticed that Pineapple has a strong prey drive; she tends to chase anything small, fluffy, and quick. Therefore, new owners should have a solid recall command before letting her off-lead and should keep an eye out for anything small and furry.
Type of Home - Pineapple is searching for her new family, ideally one with a nice sized garden that has secure 6ft fencing. Her new owners should be home most of the time and build her home alone time gradually. Ideally they will have experience with Sighthounds. . It's important for her new family to be ready to share their personal space, as Pineapple loves to be close by. Also, be cautious of her tail, it's always wagging!
Pineapple will need a minimum of two visit from everyone in the household.
The adoption fee for Pineapple is £250.00
