PATCH 03.09.2009 – 07.07.2025
On 7th July with much sadness & heavy hearts, we said our final goodnight to little, old Patch.
Patch first came to SDR back in September 2011 – a cheeky, young Jack Russell Terrier who found a new home. He was returned to us due to his behaviour so we then went on to find a further two homes for him but his behaviours were difficult for people to manage. In 2012 we made Patch a resident and sponsor dog – this meant that he would stay with us at the centre.
He was very much loved and maybe a little spoilt – he would often have an armchair in his kennel and could be seen perched on it like royalty! In warmer weather he enjoyed time in the paddling pools after his walk and in later years he loved a little stroll around our grounds and a play in the meadows.
Sadly, Patch had several seizures in a short space of time and his little body was unable to cope. Along with advice from our veterinary surgeons, we knew that it was time to let him rest. Our dog carers were with him and he knew how much he was loved.
Our thoughts are with all those that loved & supported Patch, especially his regular walkers, Eddie, Janet, Linda, Janet C & Pete.
Patch was such a big part of SDR for so long – he’s left a huge hole and our hearts are breaking. We thank you all for your support at this difficult time.
Run free & shine bright Patch
