Bluebell has been returned due to a change in behaviour and is looking for a dedicated family who are willing to put the time in to work on her behavioural changes. She is a very lively and boisterous girl that has lots of love to give. She has settled into the kennel routine well but she does have a tendency to jump up at the door through excitement when someone walks past.
She is the class clown and never fails to make us laugh! She has lots of boisterous energy and loves to run and play with her handlers in any way she can. When out in our exercise areas, Bluebell is happy to go off and explore her new surroundings but is more than happy to come back to her handlers for another play. However, some work will need to be done on her recall before being let off-lead in public, as her recall is not 100%.
She will occasionally chase a toy that is thrown for her but she is much more interested in having a run and a play with her handlers. She also enjoys sitting at her carer's feet for some love and fuss.
Bluebell is a typical bulldog type and doesn't realise her own strength. She can get very excitable and will jump up at her handlers and occasionally mouth, so new owners must be prepared to work on this with positive reward based training. High value treats will be useful to help keep her focus, as she is full of energy. We would recommend that she be placed in a home with adults only due to her excess energy and previous behaviour in the home.
Bluebell has mixed with other dogs since she has been with us and has been introduced to large and small dogs. She is happy to greet the other dogs but does not know how to behave around them. She will lunge at them in an overexcited manner and this could make the other dog nervous and we feel that she would be better suited to being the only dog on the home. She will require more socialisation to learn how to interact around other dogs.
Bluebell will make a fun, loving and energetic companion for the right owners with Bulldog experience looking for a dog to keep them on their toes.
Can you offer this lovely girl a loving and permanent new home?
