Coco arrived in the care of SDR with another dog, after we received a call from a local pound asking if we could help. Coco has settled into daily life at SDR and loves going out for her walks and spending time with the staff and volunteers.
Due to her age, Coco can't be over exercised and is limited to 40 minutes. As she still still growing and developing, over exercising her would risk damaging her growth plates. In order to drain some of her excess energy, it's important that owners get her using her brain. She is such an intelligent girl and picks new things up so quickly.
Coco would do well in scent work as she loves to use her nose. Start her off with the basics and then build on her up to more advanced scent work. Once old enough she would also be a great running partner and would do well with canicross.
Coco is looking for a home with owners who have had Shepherd types before and they must read up on Dutch Shepherds and understand how to get the best out of them. She has a huge amount of potential and has already picked up sit, down and roll over in just a couple of sessions. It's important owners mentally stimulate her through training and interactive games to eliminate boredom.
In the right home with owners who will give her a job to do, Coco will make a wonderful addition.
Can you offer this lovely girl a loving and permanent new home?
