What the grant funding remit involves
- Taking the lead on identifying grant opportunities and writing compelling applications
- Managing relationships with Trusts and Foundations
- Working with fellow trustees, staff, and volunteers to ensure funding aligns with our priorities
- Helping to monitor and report on grants received to ensure compliance and impact.
- Using your knowledge and expertise to strengthen SDR’s long-term sustainability
What the Trustee remit involves
As a member of the Board of Trustees, you will share collective responsibility for guiding the strategic direction of Stokenchurch Dog Rescue (SDR) and for acting in the best interests of the charity by directing the affairs of SDR. This includes ensuring the charity remains solvent, well-managed, and true to the mission and objectives for which the charity was set up.
Trustees are expected to:
- Attend monthly evening Board meetings and our Annual General Meeting (AGM)
- Participate in ad-hoc meetings and contribute to project work and fundraising initiatives as needed
- Collaborate with fellow trustees, staff, and volunteers to support the charity’s goals
- Visit the centre when required to stay connected with our operations and the dogs in our care
About you
We’re looking for someone who brings a blend of professional expertise and commitment to our mission. You’ll have:
- Relevant experience in writing applications, fundraising, or charity finance and if you have experience of charity governance as a trustee all to the better
- A commitment to the SDR’s core purpose, its values and ethics as well as an enthusiasm to devote the necessary time and effort
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
- A collaborative approach and a willingness to have an active involvement in working with the SDR team
- An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and a belief that every dog deserves a second chance
- A commitment to maintain confidentiality, disclose any conflicts of interest and abide by professional standards and conduct
