Eric

Back

25th May 2017

Eric was handed into SDR in February 2015 after his owner unable to keep him at the property.  Eric was a very lively and happy 10 month old pup upon arrival with no behavioural issues.  He was good with people and mixed well with dogs.  However, Eric now finds himself a resident at SDR due to his unpredictable behaviour.  As Eric got older, his behaviour towards other dogs and people changed.  He lost all confidence and couldn’t cope with normal everyday things.  His aggression stems through fear and the staff have worked hard on improving his behaviour and gaining his trust.  There are days were he is very affectionate and wants lots of fuss and attention, other days he prefers his own company.

Eric enjoys his time on our enclosed meadows, chasing after his ball.  He also likes long walks in the woods and then getting back on site to dive into the paddling pools.

Patch

Back

24th Mar 2014

Patch originally landed in the care of SDR via a pound as an unclaimed stray in September 2011.  Unfortunately Patch decided that home life wasn’t for him and after 3 failed homes, due to his aggressive behaviour, Patch was made a resident dog back in May 2012.

Patch is very happy in kennels and not once has his behaviour been an issue.  He trusts the staff and has the most amazing bond with his regular walkers.  As soon as he spots his regular walker, he pulls and tries to walk as quickly as possible to greet his friend.

Patch is quite a character, he is very cheeky and loves to take little breaks on his walks by finding the biggest, dirtiest puddle he can find and lays down in it to cool off.  On a warm summers day you will find him coming back to the centre with is walker and diving into one of the many paddling pools;  he will lay down and swim in the very shallow water.  He isn’t so keen on bikes and likes to tell them off as they go whizzing past.
